AI Features & Limitations
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Snyff includes an optional AI feature that helps you journal. Here's what it does, what it doesn't do, and its limits — in plain language.
What the AI feature does
When you add a photo to a journal entry, Snyff can suggest a short, descriptive caption of what's visible in the picture — the setting, your dog's posture, an object in frame. You can edit the suggestion or rewrite it before you save, and it's kept as part of your entry so your journal stays complete and searchable.
Descriptive, never diagnostic
Snyff's AI descriptions describe what is visible in a photo. They are not a diagnosis, not veterinary or medical advice, and not a substitute for a professional. Snyff won't tell you what a symptom means or what to do about it. If you have any concern about your dog's health, please contact a qualified veterinarian.
How your photos are used
To generate a description, the photo you choose is sent securely to a third-party AI provider that returns the text. Your journal and photos stay private to your account and are never sold. For full details on how your data is handled, see our Privacy Policy.
Limitations to keep in mind
AI can be wrong. It may miss details, misread what's in a photo, or describe things in ways that don't match reality. Treat every description as a helpful starting point for your own notes — not as fact — and review and edit it before saving. You know your dog best; your judgment always comes first.
Where AI notes are available
AI photo notes are part of Snyff's paid plans. Basic includes a set number of AI notes each month; Ultra includes unlimited notes under a fair-use policy. The free plan doesn't include AI notes — but you can always journal with your own captions on any plan. You'll see any limits in the app.
